Mood Swings, the first full-length album from Los Angeles-based Shy Wave, slips its warm analog samples between cool electronic sounds to convey a sonic account of life’s ups and downs.

Shy Wave is composed of filmmaker and musician Joshua Namq Kang and his shapeshifting alter ego, also named Shy Wave. Just as Shy Wave, the creature, changes its shape according to its own mood, the tracks on Mood Swings shift through their elements, contrasting one texture against another to create Shy Wave’s unique sound.

Not limiting itself to one genre, the album will satisfy a wide range of listeners as it moves through a variety of emotions.
